At the end of our second dive of our first day diving, while doing our 20 foot three minute safety stop, a HUGE Hammerhead shark swam along the bottom about 35 feet below us. We all swear it had to be 20 feet long. My fish identification book -says- the maximum length for Hammerheads is 14 feet. It HAD to be at least that big. Unfortunately, since we were about to get out of the water, my camera was off and I did not get a photo.
Caribbean Reef Shark. We saw a number of these. This one was about six to eight feet long.
It was difficult to get good photos of the sharks because of the distance and they
blended in so well.
This was the other ( smaller ) Hammerhead we saw. About seven feet.
This is our Dive Master chasing after the shark and swimming between my camera and the shark.
We also saw a few Nurse Sharks including a five foot one on a night dive but I was unable to get any photos.
