Before setting off we again reviewed what we were carrying and hid another bag of non-essentials to pick up on our return. The plan was to hike to the base camp and then continue to the top of Mt. Roraima and join the others. I don't know if it was the lack of sufficient sleep, the altitude ( the top of Mt. Roraima is 2810 meters, 9220 feet ), not being in good enough shape, or a combination of the above but, a hour into today's hike I was already exhausted. Once we reached the base camp, I knew I would not be able to make it to the top. We decided to stay at the base camp. Left Photo: View of The Kukenan. Right Photo: The Grande Savannah.

 
The short hike today gave us time to relax and spend some time in camp. And get a much needed bath.
