Desert Tour

Whenever traveling to an unfamiliar place, I have always found taking a tour early on in your stay to be very useful. In addition to lots of information on the desert and it's plants and inhabitants, our guide Luke told me how to get to the top of Tetawaki Hill and how to get to the desert pool we visited. This information made the trip much more enjoyable.
Toni, Myself, and Lynne are standing under a huge 300 year old cactus.
Luke took us to a desert oasis. Normally this area would stand out as a small green patch in a brown desert, but the recent rains made all of the desert green.
This wild fig tree is in the oasis. This is one tree. If you look close it is all connected.
This plant was very interesting. It looks like it is part of the bush. But it is actually a parasite. It's seeds fall on the branch of a bush and create an incision. The plant then sprouts from this incision using the bush to nourish it.
