Last day on the trail. Today was my birthday. Shortly after getting up in the morning the group sang
happy birthday to me in Spanish.

Crossing a small stream.

A HUGE grasshopper. It was about six inches long.

This was the only completely sunny day of the trip. Note the socks etc hanging from Miriela's pack
to dry.

We are nearing the end of our journey. The Kukenan and Mt Roraima in the background give an
idea of how far we traveled.

Back in the Village of Paraitepuy.

Jose our guide and Miriela

The end of our journey. We hiked eight hours today.
The washed out road prevents vehicles from coming any closer to Mt. Roraima.

Ice was a welcome reminder of the civilization we left six days ago.

Miriela and Murielle

Irene and Jesus were the last of our group to complete the trip. Jesus walked the last day in sports
sandals because his feet were in too bad of shape to wear boots. A local, Irene, a local, Maytte, Jesus,
Melania.

Our Jeep driver brought us cold beer to celebrate our return.

Packing up.
