Wed Aug 18th - Eleven hour plane ride ( including layovers ) from Columbus Ohio to Caracas Venezuela.

Friday Aug 20 - Five and a half hour car trip from Caracas to Puerto La Cruz. The eventful trip included a half hour delay to receive a traffic ticket for an expired medical certificate ( upper left ) and a three and a half hour detour on a pot hole filled dirt road due to flooding on the main road ( upper right ). The trip also included hitting a large crab as it crossed the road and a near miss with a bull ( a similar bull shown center ).

Sat Aug 21 - Three hour car trip to Ciudad Bolivar (Bolivar City). A beautiful sunset on the way! The top photo is of the Puente Angostura (Angostura Bridge)

 
Sat Aug 21 - Got on the bus at 9 PM for the all night ( eleven hour ) ride to San Francisco de Yuruani. The photo on the right is an early morning picture out the window of the bus.

 
Sun Aug 22 - The bus dropped us off at the small village of San Francisco de Yuruani where we met our guide Jose.

Next is a one and a half hour Jeep ride. It takes us as far as it can go, to a river ( center ) who's only bridge across has been washed out.
